Job Summary:
Panelmatic is seeking a detail-oriented experienced Quality Engineer. In this role, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that all products meet our established requirements for reliability and workmanship, as well as other quality program standards.
Job Duties:
- Lead manufacturing quality processes for Youngstown and Brookfield facilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality control procedures, work instructions, and inspection guidelines for electrical products and components
- Assist with quality related activities required for implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Interpret and review electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure alignment with customer and regulatory requirements
- Perform thorough inspections and tests of electrical products, components, and assemblies using specialized equipment
- Verify product performance, functionality, and reliability against specifications and design requirements
- Integrate customer and regulatory requirements into Panelmatic processes by preparation and execution of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for quality failures and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Procurement and Production teams to ensure products meet all customer and regulatory requirements, address and resolve quality issues, provide technical feedback to improve product design and manufacturing processes
- Support calibration and maintenance of testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of measurements
- Conduct internal and supplier audits as necessary
- Train and educate production and Quality Control personnel on quality control techniques, procedures, and best practices
- Work with suppliers to ensure incoming electrical components meet quality standards
- Coordination and Support of customers during FAT process
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Three plus years of experience in quality engineering in an electrical or electronics manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of electrical standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, IPC, ISO)
- Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and Six Sigma methodologies
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and using measurement/testing equipment
- Experience with ISO-9001 quality management systems (QMS)
- Computer literate and experience working with ERP systems
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check required
- Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more required
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four plus hours at a time required
- Alignment with company core values required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an ISO-9001 environment preferred
- ISO-9001 lead/internal auditor certification
- Experience in Lean/Six sigma preferred
- Certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) preferred
