Mechanic

Responsibilities: The Mechanic 1 is responsible to perform preventative maintenance and repairs, including but not limited to: tune-ups, gasoline and diesel engines; replacement and repair of parts to the engine, brake system, exhaust system, electrical system and drive train. Provide road side repair of vehicles and equipment when requested. Monitor gas consumption and oil use of vehicles; maintain accurate and timely vehicle maintenance and repair records; responsible for maintaining tools in the garage; assist with maintaining parts and supply inventory; and perform welding work, as assigned. Subject to 24-hour call-back/stand-by to perform emergency maintenance and repair after normal working hours, on nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in automotive maintenance and repair or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Possession of a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and a CDL B. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) 1 certification in brakes, electrical and engine performance preferred.
