• Role: Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (ICU RN) – Cardiac Medical ICU (Adults)
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:1–2 (critical care / telemetry)
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse / Travel RN)

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience (critical care nurse experience in cardiac or medical ICU preferred)
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Valid RN license — Ohio state license or multistate compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA only)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• 2 professional references (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
• Ability to float to different units within the organization as needed
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities (ICU RN / Critical Care Nurse)

• Provide high-quality critical care to adult patients with complex cardiac and medical diagnoses, including ACS, acute MI, cardiogenic shock, post-interventional cardiac procedures, decompensating heart failure, TAVR, and common secondary diagnoses (GI bleed, renal failure, airway disease, diabetes, pneumonia, embolus)
• Perform advanced ICU clinical skills: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), Impella care, CRRT, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, blood product administration, procedural sedation, and interpretation of ABGs and EKGs
• Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions consistent with hospital policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care using the EPIC electronic health record
• Float to other units within the OSU organization as required
