Audit Senior - Government Services
Position Summary
Join a dedicated team focused on serving government entities such as state agencies, municipalities, school districts, and public institutions. As an Audit Senior, you will engage in projects that emphasize transparency and accountability, ensuring the prudent use of public resources. This role offers the opportunity to enhance your technical expertise and leadership skills within a mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit Execution: Develop and implement audit programs aligned with identified risks, ensuring procedures meet engagement objectives. Prepare and review comprehensive workpapers, financial statements, and disclosures.
- Project Management: Own key areas of engagements, manage timelines, and prioritize deliverables to meet firm standards and client deadlines. Monitor budgets and communicate with managers regarding necessary adjustments.
- Client Collaboration: Work directly with clients to understand their operations, address issues, and maintain strong professional relationships. Escalate risks and share insights with engagement leadership.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide staff auditors, review their work for quality and completeness, and provide constructive feedback. Assist in performance reviews and contribute to team development initiatives.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant audit experience, preferably in public accounting, is essential.
- Experience with government or public-sector clients and familiarity with GASB is advantageous.
- Progress toward or attainment of CPA is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, think critically, and communicate effectively.
