Optimization and Algorithms Engineer
Seeking Optimization and Algorithms Engineer with 2+ years of research and development experience to contribute to and lead applied R&D programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Qualified Candidates will be able to:
- Apply strong programming capability in at least one of the following languages: C, C++, Python, MATLAB
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of shape/topology optimization techniques and algorithms
- Establishing numerical models described by partial differential equations using the finite element, finite difference, or finite volume method
Desirable, but not mandatory, qualifications include:
- Knowledgeable in applying the adjoint method or automatic differentiation for design sensitivity analysis
- Familiarity with gradient based optimization methods for numerical design of engineering systems
- Experience or interest in any of the following: machine learning, computational geometry, surrogate modeling, uncertainty quantification, integrated computational materials engineering (ICME)

- Support the pursuit of new business opportunities through proposal writing, opportunity identification and participation in meetings
- Stay current in technology advancements and embrace growth opportunities
Requirements
- Exclusive US citizenship is required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance is required
- MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics from an accredited university
- Minimum 2 years of experience in applied research and development is preferred. Experience gained conducting research in MS and PhD programs will be counted towards years of experience.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on experience
