Job Overview The Quality Data Analyst Intern will support the Gilbarco Veeder-Root Quality organization by conducting detailed data analyses, identifying trends and insights within quality data, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of information used by internal stakeholders. This role provides a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in data analysis, quality management methodologies, and continuous improvement practices that drive operational excellence across GVR. Responsibilities- Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple quality and service systems (e.g., SMS, AX, D365, warranty databases).
- Perform statistical and trend analyses to identify patterns, anomalies, and emerging issues in product quality and service performance.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate insights to quality leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Support root cause analysis efforts by providing data-driven insights into failure trends and warranty claims.
- Assist in documenting quality data processes, ensuring consistency, and improving accessibility of information.
- Collaborate with the Quality, Warranty/Claims, and Service Systems teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and data standardization.
- Prepare an end-of-year report summarizing accomplishments, key contributions, and outcomes achieved during the internship.
- Current student pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or related fields.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g. Python, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or SQL) preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-starter with curiosity to explore data, identify insights, and propose solutions.
- Self-starter who takes ownership of data accuracy and system hygiene
- Analytical mindset with curiosity to ask "why" and dig deeper into patterns
- Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal
- Organized and capable of juggling multiple tasks without losing track of details
- Committed to continuous improvement and proactive in identifying better ways of working
- May require prolonged periods of computer use
- Occasional travel to team meetings, or audits
