Behavioral Health Residential Treatment Facility (RTF)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts Available
Population Served: Male Adolescents Ages 8-18

Diversified Treatment Alternative Centers (DTAC) is seeking compassionate, dependable Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) in Columbus, Ohio.
This program serves male adolescents ages 8-18 who require a structured, trauma-informed therapeutic environment to address behavioral health, emotional, and psychiatric needs. As an LPN, you will play an essential role in supporting resident health, safety, and treatment success through medication administration, health monitoring, crisis response, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Schedule: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Night Shift LPN
Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Ideal candidates will have:
- Strong documentation skills
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent assessment and observation abilities
- Confidence identifying and escalating medical or behavioral concerns
Flexible Coverage LPN
Schedule: Rotating Days, Nights, and Weekends
Ideal candidates will:
- Be flexible with scheduling
- Assist with PTO and coverage needs
- Adapt quickly to changing facility demands
- Provide consistent support across shifts
Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing nursing services within the scope of licensure to support the health, safety, and well-being of residents. The LPN serves as the primary on-site nursing resource during assigned shifts and works closely with the treatment team, psychiatric providers, nursing leadership, and direct care staff.
Successful candidates will be comfortable working independently while knowing when to escalate concerns and collaborate with clinical leadership.
Essential Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and agency policies
- Complete medication passes and maintain accurate Medication Administration Records (MARs)
- Monitor residents for medication effectiveness, side effects, and adverse reactions
- Coordinate medication refills and communicate with pharmacies and providers
- Monitor resident health status through observation, vital signs, and nursing assessments within scope of practice
- Respond appropriately to medical and behavioral health concerns
- Report significant changes in condition to the appropriate medical provider
- Maintain timely and accurate nursing documentation
- Collaborate with therapists, case managers, psychiatry, nursing leadership, and direct care staff
- Participate in shift reports, treatment team meetings, and care coordination activities
- Promote a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment for adolescents
- Support compliance with agency policies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Required
- Active Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts
- Ability to pass required background clearances
Preferred
- Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience
- Residential treatment experience
- Corrections nursing experience
- Substance use treatment experience
- Pediatric or adolescent healthcare experience
- Experience working with psychotropic medications
- Experience working with multidisciplinary treatment teams
