Position Summary
At this level the associate has advanced knowledge of all aspects of the process. They can solve most non-routine process problems. The associate at this level is more aware of the overall business and can recognize the need for and escalate process improvements to standard work that reduce cost and/or improve quality and delivery. They may interact with associates in other functional areas and can oversee and assist with department development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Support production objectives by:
- Performing set-up related duties
- Troubleshooting production problems relating to equipment, tooling, and processes
- Supporting of company philosophies, systems, and policies through actions and words
- Performing all the duties of a JLG level 4 or higher operator for a specific department
- Setting up equipment to standard work
- Training and educating operators
- Offering ideas and looking for improvement of processes
- Advanced troubleshooting of production problems relating to equipment, tooling, and processes
- Being the subject matter expert regarding the technical and mechanical portion of machining
- Driving to obtain and reduce setup target objectives
- Facilitating Shift Start up and departmental meetings
- Assisting in the development of new processes and/or standard work
- Driving changes to reduce cost and improve department metrics
- Performing, training and assisting in preventative maintenance on equipment and tooling as needed. Can identify and repair many machine malfunctions without guidance
- Accurately completing records in maintenance management system
- Identifying and correcting machining problems relative to tools and tool holders, collets and chucks
- Ability to identify and rectify mechanical equipment malfunctions
- Self-motivated
- Demonstrates proficient machining, communication, and troubleshooting
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Advanced knowledge about the products, processes and equipment
Preferred:
- Advanced technical training or equivalent

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift Kegs and Boxes on a regular basis between 25 - 35 pounds and occasionally between 35 - 50 pounds. Considerable standing, stooping and bending is required. May be required to pass pre-employment and annual Vision Acuity tests
