Data Engineer, BI

Vitamix is seeking a Data Engineer, BI who will be responsible for the end-to-end development of data pipelines, ensuring that our business intelligence tools are fed with accurate, timely, and high-performing datasets. They will bridge the gap between raw data and actionable insights by partnering with stakeholders to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design, build and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines originating from multiple diverse data sources.
- Implement and manage CI/CD processes while ensuring strict adherence to data security and governance standards.
- Develop sophisticated dimensional models and semantic layers specifically tailored for BI reporting and analytics.
- Partner closely with data analysts and business stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and define Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Improve pipeline reliability and performance across assigned data domains to minimize downtime and maximize data trust.
- Enable stable, accurate and high-speed BI reporting through the delivery of curated datasets.
- Reduce data refresh times and significantly lower the frequency of operational incidents through proactive optimization.
- Drive the maturity of the data team by enhancing documentation and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
2-4 years hands-on experience building and managing complex data pipelines
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Technical Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of data modeling methodologies (e.g. Kimball, Data Vault) and seamless BI integration
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Deep experience in Snowflake and Matillion
- Mastery of modern orchestration tools and version control

Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit up to 8 hours per day, with walking and standing required frequently
- Visual acuity is required to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading documents, reports, and emails
- Repetitive hand movements for tasks like typing or assembly
