PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio (ZIP 43210)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit
• Start Date: December 1, 2025
• End Date: March 23, 2026
• Contract Duration: 16-week healthcare contract
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940 - $1990
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling requests; variable weekends per unit needs
• Orientation: First week Mon-Fri dayshift; five bedside orientation shifts in weeks 2 and 3
• Floating: Required to all MedSurg and PCU Oncology units
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent high acuity PCU or higher-level nursing experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• Oncology nursing experience preferred
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact or Ohio nursing license required
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Proficiency with Epic electronic charting system
• Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in progressive care and oncology settings
• Float between specialized units: Bone Marrow Transplant, Acute Leukemia, Hematology, Medical Oncology, PCU Oncology, Gynecological Oncology, Urology, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology, and Corrections Healthcare
• Implement infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention strategies
• Administer medications, manage central and peripheral lines, and provide chemotherapy (if certified)
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage cardiac drips, and respond to rapid response/code situations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and more
• Accurately document patient care using Epic
• Participate in self-scheduling and adapt to variable weekend and holiday coverage
