AI/Automation Engineer
Job Description
Job Description
AI—encompassing data science, machine learning, and deep learning—is one of the most transformative technologies of our time. As an AI Engineer at Satelytics, you'll play a pivotal role in creating and deploying cutting-edge AI products from the ground up. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape our AI strategy, tackle real-world problems in geospatial analytics and environmental monitoring, and build robust infrastructure for model development and production. This is your chance to become an expert in AI model building and deployment, contributing directly to solutions that detect methane leaks, track land movements, and ensure regulatory compliance across global industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the management, maintenance, and updating of our production AI infrastructure to ensure scalability and reliability for handling large-scale geospatial datasets.
- Collaborate in developing AI models from scratch, leveraging deep neural networks to analyze multispectral and hyperspectral imagery; interpret results and communicate insights to product managers, stakeholders, and domain experts.
- Stay abreast of the latest AI research and advancements relevant to our business domains, such as remote sensing, spectral analysis, and environmental risk quantification, and apply them to enhance our platform's capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physical Sciences, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience developing and training deep neural network (DNN) models.
- 1-2 years of experience working with large-scale remote image datasets, including multispectral or hyperspectral data.
- A scientifically rigorous approach to machine learning, with a focus on reproducible, data-driven methodologies.
- Demonstrated personal commitment to AI growth through self-initiated learning, such as online courses, books, or side projects.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages and tools, with a strong foundation in statistical analysis; examples include Python, NumPy, scikit-learn, Orfeo Toolbox, and Jupyter Notebooks.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying AI models using frameworks like PyTorch, Keras, or other deep neural network/CNN libraries.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum development methodologies to thrive in collaborative, iterative environments.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with excellent organization and time management skills.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and contribute effectively as part of a dynamic team.
Company DescriptionSatelytics is a pioneering software company revolutionizing industrial risk management through advanced geospatial analytics. Our mission is to solve the world's most pressing industrial challenges by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor assets, detect anomalies early, and minimize risks such as environmental impacts, regulatory non-compliance, and costly disruptions. Delivered via our cloud-based platform, satelytics.io on AWS, we analyze petabytes of multispectral and hyperspectral data from diverse sources to isolate spectral signatures, generate interactive visualizations, and provide actionable alerts.
We serve critical industries including Oil & Gas (methane emissions and contamination monitoring), Pipelines (leak detection and land movement), Power Utilities (vegetation management and thermal plume analysis), Water & Wastewater (chemical species sampling and point source identification), Forestry (tree health assessment), Mining (tailings pond monitoring), and Specialty Chemicals (process impact tracking). By finding issues in their infancy and quantifying risks, we help organizations save time, reduce costs, and protect the environment—all while improving AI accuracy through continuous data learning.
