The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and chairside assisting techniques. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental clinic.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare and maintain dental instruments, materials, and equipment for various treatments.
• Take and develop X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
• Record patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information in software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including medical documentation and coding.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist in the management of patient files.
• Support pediatric dentistry procedures by providing compassionate care to young patients.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
• Experience with Dentrix is a plus.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
• Ability to perform medical imaging tasks using 3D scanners when necessary.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Certification in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to pursue certification is encouraged.

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
