First Merchants Bank is seeking a Talent Acquisition Partner I to join our team! This position will be responsible for the full‐cycle talent acquisition process for multiple job requisitions and a variety of hiring managers. Coach and guide managers on recruiting processes and systems to ensure Company hiring and recruiting practices are in compliance with applicable state and federal legislation/regulations to prevent and/or minimize potential liability to the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruitment duties include but are not limited to:
- Utilize the Company’s applicant tracking system for posting jobs and reviewing, tracking, update and manage candidate process.
- Update and manage external job boards; prescreen and present qualified applicants to hiring managers for interviews; make job offers in alignment with company policies and pay guidelines.
- Review post-offer information (background, credit screening, etc.).
- Update applicant status and disposition and notify applicants of hiring results including the handling of rejection communications.
- Manage workflow in a fast-paced environment.
- Identify, source, and recruit qualified candidates.
- Actively through a variety of means to include internet, social media, print advertising, career and college fairs, professional organizations, community agencies, colleges, and universities. When necessary, strategize with hiring managers to determine other possible recruitment sources. This will be achieved through employing traditional sourcing as well as developing new and creative recruiting ideas.
- Passively through a variety of methods such as LinkedIn searches, resume searches, direct email campaigns, social media search/contacts, cold calling, etc.
- Develop and maintain relationships with hiring managers. Adapt to changing hiring priorities by formulating plans to fill roles quickly. Implement recruiting strategies for all assigned positions. This includes being confident to partner with all levels of management to determine recruiting needs. Update recruiting reports to track recruiting results.
- Consult with hiring managers regarding potential candidates and assist in the final decision making when needed. Educate managers on the recruitment process, timelines, roles and responsibilities, as well as, promoting candidate diversity. Prepare and send credit and background check adverse action letters to candidates in compliance with Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Create a positive candidate experience no matter the hiring decision.
To be successful in this position, we require the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, management, or relevant field of study OR an associate degree/ two years of college + two (2) years of related work/military experience OR four (4) years of related work/military experience (plus any additional required experience).
- A minimum of one (1) year of human resources, recruitment, or related experience.
The following would be a plus:
- Human resource information systems (HRIS) related experience.
- Banking experience.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
