Experienced Main Line Technician
Main Line Automotive Service Technician
PURPOSE:
A Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned by dealer and factory standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; and completing preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation, and changes, wheel balancing, and replacing filters.
- Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; and replacing parts and components.
- Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; and adjusting controls and systems.
- Maintains vehicle records by accurate and neat recording of recommended service and repairs.
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; and performing preventive maintenance.
- Contains costs by using warranty; evaluates service and parts options.
- Updates job knowledge by self participating in educational opportunities; and reading technical publications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Service Technician Experience is required.
- Must be computer and Internet comfortable.
- Previous General Motors experience preferred, not required.
- ASE Certification preferred.
- Must possess good communication skills and work well with others.
- Must be Neat in appearance and maintain a neat work area.
- Valid Driver license and reliable transportation.
- Must have own tools.
- Neat and punctual.
- Drug-Free workplace - testing will be required before employment.
- This position is for experienced candidates only.
