Structural Fabrication Welder–Fitter

A fresh set of blueprints lands on your bench. You chalk your layout line, square your edges, and stage every part needed to build a clean, accurate assembly. Tack by tack, pass by pass, you transform raw steel into a finished structure the team is proud to ship.

This on-site role places you at the center of a fast-moving production floor where quality, safety, and teamwork drive every decision. Whether you’re growing your MIG/TIG skills or bringing seasoned fitting experience, you’ll be trusted to deliver craftsmanship you can stand behind.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay: $21–$26 per hour
• Hours: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 3:30 PM–11:00 PM
• Start Date: ASAP
• Location: Struthers, OH (near Youngstown) — on-site

Your Impact

In this role, you’ll own the build from layout to verification:

• Fit and assemble structural frameworks and housings to blueprint specifications using welding processes.
• Interpret blueprints and material lists to accurately pull and stage parts.
• Lay out components on tables using squares, chalk lines, and soapstone for precise placement and cuts.
• Tack-weld assemblies and set up jigs for repeatable, high-quality results.
• Fine-tune fits with files, chisels, and grinders; use jigs/fixtures to hold tolerances.
• Apply controlled heat with acetylene torches to bend/shape parts while following safety protocols.
• Verify work with squares, rules, and calipers to ensure conformance.
• Optionally anneal to relieve weld stress; complete assemblies using torches and brazing rods when required.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Approximately 1 year of welding/fitting experience preferred; technical welding education is a plus.
• Sharp attention to detail and comfort following complex specs.
• Physical stamina, dexterity, and strong safety awareness.
• Experience with MIG on steel plate, pipe, and tube is advantageous.
• Open-root TIG experience is beneficial.
• Prior fitting of metal components is a plus.
