Sales Account Executive
A rapidly growing Ohio based full-service event rental company has an excellent Columbus based opportunity for an energetic, charismatic, and confident professional who is interested in the event & hospitality industries. This person must be motivated, represent our company's core values and be disciplined with a passion for events.
Successful candidates will be responsible for developing consistent growth with existing clients as well as new and under-performing clients. This will require becoming knowledgeable about our products and services as well as meeting with clients in both our showroom and at event sites. Candidates should enjoy interacting with clients both on the phone and in the showroom to help them plan for their events such as graduation parties, weddings, fundraisers, and corporate galas. A college degree or event industry experience is a plus but not required.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use our proven sales playbook to present our products and services to current and prospective customers.
- Assist with answering phones and meeting with showroom clients to create quotes and assist clients with event design, order changes and questions.
- Close sales by converting quotes into reservations; explaining delivery/pickup options as well as payment options
- Search the web, social media and industry sources to learn about prospective customers.
- Follow up with customers post-event to understand challenges, successes, and future opportunities
- Assist with resolving customer complaints.
- Attend in-person and Zoom weekly sales meetings.
- Learn rental inventory and stay up to date on industry trends.
- Consult with clients to determine event details and rental needs.
- Prepare and enter customer orders and production schedules/timelines, verify entered orders for accuracy, complete all revisions/additions at the request of the client.
- Occasional travel to offsite locations.
- Problem solve and troubleshoot rental inventory issues, as needed.
- Work with several teams including sales, inventory, and operations teams to provide all the necessary information for successful execution of the events
- Educate and inform customers about all rental items available and cross sell all company products.
- Attend product showcases and educational events.
- Attend industry networking events and build relationships for the future business of the company. Requirements:
- Exceptional customer service, active listening, verbal, and communication skills.
- Event experience preferred.
- Proficient with computers (Gmail, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.). All applicants must provide their salary requirements when applying for their application to be considered. Current hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8am - 4:30pm, plus monthly industry events that occur after-hours (one of the few opportunities to be part of events with most of your evenings and weekends free). This is a full time, salaried position of $40,000 plus commissions. We offer paid time off, health, dental and vision benefits as well as a 401K plan.
