Litigation Legal Assistant
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established law firm seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join their Cleveland office. This position plays a vital role in supporting litigation attorneys and paralegals through proactive administrative coordination and client-facing professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and support client communications
Prepare and edit legal correspondence, memos, and court documents
Electronically file pleadings and legal documents with local and federal courts
Track deadlines and monitor case timelines to ensure timely filings
Organize and maintain client files, documents, and correspondence using firm systems
Assist with expense reimbursements, time entry, and other administrative tasks
Provide backup support to attorneys in other practice areas as needed
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Background in legal support with a strong focus on litigation procedures
Familiarity with court systems and legal terminology
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with legal software such as iManage, Kofax/Nuance, InTapp, or LMS+ is a plus
Ability to transcribe dictation and process legal mail and documents efficiently
Qualifications:
At least three years of experience in litigation legal support
Education in legal studies or related coursework preferred
