Typical job duties involves using machine tools to create precision parts and components, often from metal, according to specifications and blueprints. They set up, operate, and maintain various machines like lathes, milling machines, and grinders, ensuring the finished products meet quality standards. Machinists also interpret technical drawings, perform calculations, and may work with both manual and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery. Key Responsibilities:

• Reading and interpreting blueprints
• Analyze technical drawings, sketches, and computer-aided designs (CAD) to understand the specifications and dimensions of the parts they need to create.
• Setting up and operating machine tools
• Prepare and secure cutting tools, fixtures, and workpieces on machines like lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
• Machining parts
• Use these machines to shape, cut, drill, mill, and grind metal to the desired specifications.
• Monitoring machine performance
• Observe the machines during operation, making adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Inspecting and testing
• Use precision measuring tools and visual inspection to ensure that the finished parts meet the required standards.
• Performing maintenance and repairs
• Conduct routine maintenance on machines, identify and troubleshoot problems, and may perform minor repairs.
• Working with CNC machines
• Operate and program CNC machines, which use computer software to control the movement and precision of machine tools.
• Maintaining a safe work environment
• Following safety procedures and maintaining a clean and organized workspace is crucial.

*Required Technical Skills: *

• Proficiency in operating various machine tools, understanding blueprints, and using measuring instruments.
• Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues with machines and parts.
