Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• At least 18 months of combined permanent experience in the specialty required
• Active Ohio RN license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current NIHSS certification required
• Ability to successfully complete ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments during orientation
• Must be able to work at least every other holiday
• Previous experience providing telemetry nursing care in an acute care hospital setting strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Med/Surg Telemetry patients, including post-surgical and colorectal surgery populations
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, assess patient status, and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support safe, high-quality patient outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately and efficiently in the medical record
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery expectations, and discharge needs
• Float to comparable inpatient units as needed to care for similar patient populations
• Maintain compliance with unit protocols, safety standards, and orientation requirements
