MICU RN Job Details

• Location: Akron, Ohio (zip 44304) – Ohio nursing jobs
• Healthcare Setting: 26-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
• Contract Length: 4 weeks (October 5, 2025 – November 1, 2025)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1910-$1960
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens, Travel RN Contract
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required to Neuro ICU and Telemetry units

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with Nursys verification
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience in a hospital setting
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Recent Epic EMR experience (within the last 12 months; must be listed on resume)
• Accredited nursing degree (ACEN or CCNE)
• Ability to independently obtain labs and initiate IVs
• Solid black scrubs required
• Successful completion of checklist and competency exams during onboarding
• No RTO or block scheduling requests accepted for this contract

MICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care to patients in the Medical ICU
• Float to Neuro ICU and Telemetry units as needed
• Manage patient ratios typically 1:1 or 1:2, up to 1:3 based on acuity
• Independently obtain labs and initiate IVs
• Document patient care and assessments in Epic EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures
