Assistant Toddler Teacher
Summary Position Overview: The Assistant Teacher at Empower Learn Create at UC is responsible for assisting with the planning and implementing of a constructivist classroom environment tailored to the developmental needs of toddler children. This role requires a passionate educator who can work closely with the lead teacher to foster a nurturing and stimulating learning atmosphere where children can explore, create, and grow. ELC at UC has a commitment to teaching with a social emotional lens. The environment supports the teacher's role with a beautiful natural play space and innovative art studio. Our hours of operation are 8-5 Monday through Friday. This is an 8-5 position with an hour lunch break.

- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities based on constructivist principles to promote holistic development in toddler children.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and critical thinking.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and execute learning experiences that align with the center's educational philosophy and goals.
- Assess and monitor children's progress, providing individualized support and guidance as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, maintaining open communication and partnerships to support children's learning and development.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and other relevant documentation as required by regulatory standards.
- Minimum of a high school diploma and a commitment to continue education through scholarship-based opportunity to earn a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or higher in Early Childhood Education
- Proven experience working with toddler-age children in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of constructivist teaching approaches and their application in early childhood education and/or a growth mind set to learn and embrace this approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
- Understanding of child development principles and effective practices in early childhood education.
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Previous experience with curriculum planning and lesson design.
- Familiarity with state licensing regulations and early learning standards.
- Creative and innovative mindset, with a passion for inspiring young learners.
