Director of Neonatal Practitioners
Role Summary
Seeking an experienced and inspiring Director of Neonatal Practitioners to lead a dynamic team of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) in delivering exceptional neonatal care. This high-impact leadership role combines strategic oversight, operational management, and professional development responsibilities to ensure high-quality, family-centered, and evidence-based care across neonatal services. The ideal candidate will foster a collaborative, innovative, and patient-focused culture, empowering providers to excel and grow within a nationally recognized healthcare environment.
What You Will Be Doing
Leadership & Oversight: Provide visionary leadership to a team of APRNs and PAs within the neonatal division, overseeing recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, performance evaluation, and career development.
Strategic Collaboration: Partner closely with medical directors and division chiefs to align clinical operations with strategic goals, quality benchmarks, and patient care priorities.
Quality & Innovation: Champion initiatives in quality improvement, research, and evidence-based practice to enhance clinical outcomes and support Magnet designation and national standards.
Operational Excellence: Develop, manage, and monitor both operational and capital budgets to ensure resource optimization and sustainable growth.
Governance & Representation: Serve as a key voice for advanced practice leadership in organizational committees, contributing to policy development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the advancement of patient care services.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) is required; Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD is strongly preferred.
Active and unencumbered RN and APRN licensure in the state of Ohio.
Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
Clinical background in advanced practice nursing, with pediatric and/or neonatal experience strongly preferred.
Proven ability to lead with integrity, foster team engagement, and drive quality outcomes.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and strategic thinking skills.
Desired Qualifications
Experience leading in Magnet-recognized institutions or academic medical centers.
Track record of successful implementation of quality improvement or clinical research initiatives.
Expertise in fostering shared governance models and interdisciplinary collaboration.
