About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Oncology
Location (On-site, Remote, or Hybrid?): Columbus, OH (onsite)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Work Hours: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
Total Weekly Hours: 36 16 Hematology Oncology - Nights - AYA OFFER (MED SURG UNIT)


HEMATOLOGY ONCOLOGY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED. MEDSURG EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


ONS CERTIFICATION PREFFERED ($)


Staffing ratios - goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5
Weekends - variable based on unit needs
No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff
Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule
First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
Oncology experience preferred but not required
Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology Units

Multiple Myeloma
Acute leukemias
Chronic Leukemias
Sickle Cell Disease
other non hem cancers
Other benign hematology


Special Procedures/Unit Details
Chemotherapy
Blood transfusions
IV Antibiotics
Oncologic emergencies: tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome
Insulin drips
Heparin drips
Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
