About This Role

Position Overview:

The Floater role at Empower Learn Create at UC is a dynamic opportunity for an educator to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for children of all ages. The ideal candidate will be a passionate and flexible individual who can tailor their teaching approach to meet the unique needs and developmental stages of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. ELC at UC is committed to a social-emotional approach to teaching and learning, and the role requires a team player who can collaborate with colleagues to execute learning experiences that align with the center's philosophy and goals. The beautiful natural play space and innovative art studio provide an ideal setting for creativity and exploration. Our regular hours of operation are 8-5, Monday through Friday, and this is a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

1. In a collaborative and supportive environment, create and implement curriculum and activities that align with constructivist principles to foster the holistic development of children.
2. Move seamlessly between infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms, engaging with children in learning environments that spark curiosity, exploration, and critical thinking.
3. Work in tandem with colleagues to design and execute learning experiences that reflect the center's educational philosophy and goals, promoting a culture of open communication and mutual support.
4. Offer individualized guidance and support to children as needed, recognizing the unique needs and abilities of each child.
5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues, ensuring a culture of collaboration, respect, and open communication that supports children's learning and development.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong commitment to enroll in scholarship-funded pursuit of CDA / Associate credential or higher in Early Childhood Education, with CDA preferred.
• Proven experience in working with children in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of constructivist teaching approaches and their application in early childhood education is highly valued, with a growth mindset to learn and adapt to the center's philosophy required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with children, families, and colleagues.
• Understanding of child development principles and effective practices in early childhood education, with a willingness to be coached on this approach.
• Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
• Consistent and dependable attendance.

Preferred:

• Minimum CDA credential, with experience in curriculum planning and lesson design a significant asset.
• Familiarity with state licensing regulations and early learning standards, with a creative and innovative mindset highly valued.
• Creative and innovative mindset, with a passion for inspiring young learners and making a meaningful difference in their lives.
