Join Our Team

The function of the Nurse Practitioner is to assist the Medical Director provide substance abuse services. The Nurse Practitioner's goal is to assist in ensuring all clinical programs are safe and appropriate to the clients specific issues and medical history. The nurse practitioner will direct and coordinate medical services and care in coordination with the Medical Director with other areas of the organization while making reasonable accommodations to ensure clients are safe and comfortable as possible during their stay.

Requirements:

• Valid and active NP license in the state of OH (required to be considered)
• Experience specifically treating clients or patients with substance abuse and/or mental health disorders (required to be considered)
• 1 year experience working as a APRN ( required to be considered)

Responsibilities:

• Facilitates team interaction for discharge planning.
• Collects and records data in a comprehensive accurate and systematic manner.
• Indicates and completes a history and physical within 72 hours of admission.
• Evaluates the impact of therapeutic interventions upon a therapeutic milieu.
• Knows and understands the company's policies and procedures.
• Shares pertinent information with team as obtained from patients or other healthcare providers as appropriate.
• Collaborates with the medical staff to ensure appropriate care is being provided.
• Document on the appropriate form, in a legible, accurate, clear and concise manner
• Documents client progress/regress according to established policies and procedures.
• Reports communicable diseases in a timely fashion to the Public Health Department.
• Performs all activities in a safe, professional manner.
• Maintains compliance with established standards, according to profession.
• Supervises and instructs patients in medication self-administration (if applicable), including the preparation and giving of injections s ordered by the doctor.
• Orders laboratory tests as necessary for quality of care.
• Ensures clients medications are obtained from the pharmacy.
• Provides health and medication education to clients.
• Continues with educational courses and in-service trainings, per policies and procedures.
• Updates knowledge of community resources on a continuous basis.
• Assess all clients and document accordingly.
• Maintains current CPR certification and other necessary certifications, including maintaining of license.
• Demonstrates objectivity and maturity under stress.
• Responds positively to changing situations in the workplace.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Demonstrates good communication skills.
• Performs in a professional manner and role-model a positive image of mental health.
• Reviews cases with the Medical Director and Director of Nursing.
• Reports abuse of patients rights immediately.
• Participates in obtaining the patients informed consent for procedures, treatments as appropriate.
• Knows and understands Backer Act and medical procedures, which includes calling the emergency release if there is an emergency at the facility.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medication actions, side effects, and contraindications.
• Performs other tasks, as assigned.

Pay: $105,000-115,000 per year

Schedule: Full-time, Mon-Friday with on call rotation to answer calls on weekends.
