Position Overview:
We are seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist to support our therapists in delivering care to children ages 6–11 in a group treatment setting. This is a part-time afternoon role , perfect for someone passionate about child mental health who thrives in fast-paced, hands-on environments. The specialist will play a critical role in maintaining a therapeutic environment, de-escalating challenging behaviors, and helping children feel safe, supported, and successful.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist therapists during group therapy sessions for young children ages 6–11.
Help implement treatment plans and reinforce positive behaviors.
Support children with emotional regulation and coping strategies.
Provide de-escalation support and crisis intervention as needed.
Communicate and coordinate with families, schools, and community partners as directed.
Ensure a safe and structured environment for all participants.
Observe and document behaviors and progress for clinical staff.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field preferred, High School Diploma required with 3 years of experience.
Experience working with children in behavioral health, education, or childcare settings strongly preferred.
Calm, compassionate, and confident in high-energy or high-stress situations.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Must be dependable and committed to maintaining a consistent schedule.
CPR/First Aid certification and trauma-informed care experience is a plus.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM
(Approximately 20 hours per week)
