- Oversee and lead the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the senior leadership team; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
- Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the program vice presidents; continuously collaborate with program vice presidents to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
- Lead the organization's financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the grant accounting to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with grantor's requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role, demonstrating progressive responsibility and growth.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, month-end close, grant accounting, and annual budget planning.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, laws, standards, and state/national regulations, along with a proven track record of working with complex budgets.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and guide team members, ensuring efficiency, meeting of deadlines, and adherence to the company's accounting standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
- Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- CPA designation is an asset.
- Experience in a non-profit organization is a plus.
