• Private Lesson Instruction in piano for beginner and intermediate students, mostly ages 6-12. Potential to expand into music, movement, and group piano classes, as well.
• 1-2 afternoons and evenings / week, with possibility to expand.
• Curriculum, materials, and teacher support are provided

Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Piano Teacher to join our studio.

Honett Studio provides joyful, high-caliber creative learning opportunities for children and adults in Gallipolis, Ohio. Located at First Presbyterian Church, the Studio offers private and group instruction in piano, voice, guitar, music theory, kinesthetic musicianship, and literacy coaching. Our mission is to develop whole musicians and confident learners—helping students grow in skill, artistry, and personal expression while connecting music and learning to everyday life. Honett Studio continues to grow organically in response to community needs, expanding access not only to education, but to excellence. We currently offer Guitar, Piano, and Voice lessons and have 4 teachers on staff. We are growing and seeking an additional teacher in Gallipolis, OH.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music instruction and a love for teaching students of all ages, from early elementary to adults. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, fostering a positive learning environment, and inspiring students to develop their musical talents.

Teaching Rate: Competitive rates for private lessons, $30-40 per hour, depending on experience.

Recitals: December and April Recitals. Organization, promotional, and program support are provided.

Required Qualifications:

• College Degree related to music performance or education
• 2+ years experience in private lesson or classroom teaching
• Candidates must be organized and detail-oriented
• Comfort and experience with creating lesson plans, also curriculum is provided and can be tailored to each teacher’s needs and goals.
• Sensitivity around the personal, financial, and health circumstances of our students

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with extracurricular music and arts activities and organizations serving children and families
• Experience with teaching movement and music.
• Familiarity with special education practices is a plus, enabling effective instruction for diverse learners.
