We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a manufacturing organization in North Canton, Ohio in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting timely reporting, and providing insight into cost and operational performance. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, payroll experience, and the ability to collaborate with leadership on planning and year-end financial activities.
Responsibilities:• Direct monthly closing activities by preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and producing accurate financial statements
• Oversee cost accounting records related to inventory, standard costs, and variance tracking to support informed business decisions
• Process payroll with a high level of accuracy while ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are consistently met
• Work closely with management to contribute to budgeting efforts and financial forecasting initiatives
• Support year-end accounting activities and assist with audit preparation by organizing documentation and responding to information requests
• Monitor general ledger activity and resolve discrepancies across key balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Review bank activity and complete reconciliations to help maintain reliable cash reporting
• Coordinate with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to promote accurate transaction recording and account balances• Proven experience managing month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, and overall account analysis
• Hands-on experience with payroll processing and maintaining accuracy in payroll-related records
• Familiarity with cost accounting concepts such as inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis
• Background in manufacturing accounting is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, reporting, and account support
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and asset or inventory tracking
• Ability to support budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audit activities in a fast-paced environment
