Job Summary:

We’re seeking a dynamic, community-minded individual to serve as our Community Engagement Director. This highly public-facing role will represent United Way in the community and advance our mission through relationship-building, fundraising, and program support. You’ll work closely with the Executive Director and lead efforts in campaign execution, donor relations, agency allocations, and event planning.

Responsibilities:

Program Management (50%)

  • Coordinate the Student United Way Youth Allocations Leadership Program
  • Serve as liaison for funded agencies during proposal and reporting processes
  • Manage the Lunch Buddy program across Logan County Schools
  • Facilitate Logan County Harwood Initiative meetings and events
  • Support additional in-house programs as needed

Fundraising & Campaigns (20%)

  • Collaborate on workplace campaigns and donor outreach
  • Cultivate relationships with donors and prospects
  • Oversee campaign logistics, materials, and volunteer coordination
  • Ensure timely donor acknowledgements and tax receipts

Event Planning (20%)

  • Lead signature events like Stuff the Bus
  • Support Community Care Day and poverty simulations

Client Support (5%)

  • Respond to community inquiries and provide referrals

Marketing & Outreach (5%)

  • Represent United Way at community meetings and presentations
  • Manage content for social media, newsletters, and website

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2–5 years of experience in fundraising, sales, event planning, human resources, community relations, marketing, nonprofit, or social services

Skills & Attributes

  • Familiarity with Logan County’s business and social service landscape
  • Self-motivated, organized, and adaptable
  • Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills
  • Ethical judgment and creative problem-solving
  • Empathy and cultural sensitivity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and database tools
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
