Shipping Clerk - Kits

Job Title: Shipping Clerk - Kits - 1st shift - 17.50/hr

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for using a computer system to track and kit/pack items, ensuring that inventory discrepancies are communicated to supervision, and following specific customer guidelines. You will be expected to pack the oldest available dates first and log in and out of equipment upon completion.

Responsibilities

• Use a computer system to manage and track kits/pack items.
• Achieve a pick/pack rate of 4-500 pieces per hour, totaling approximately 14,000 pieces per week.
• Communicate any inventory discrepancies to supervision.
• Ensure that the oldest available inventory is packed first.
• Adhere to specific customer guidelines during the packing process.
• Avoid cell phone usage during work hours.
• Log in and out of equipment upon task completion.
• Share equipment with colleagues as required.

Essential Skills

• Experience in inventory, packing, packaging, and picking.
• Ability to lift 20 lbs consistently for an 8-hour workday.
• Previous experience in fast-paced work environments.
• Proficiency with computer systems and RF scanners.
• Experience in shipping and receiving, inventory control, data entry, loading, picking, cycle counts, unloading, and warehouse shipping.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in distribution, logistics, or warehouse environments.
• Familiarity with order picking, stocking, labeling, and production.
• Experience with load management and packing.

Work Environment

The position is based in a large 123,000 sq ft warehouse/distribution site, employing approximately 40 people. There are two openings for the 1st shift, running from 8 am to 4:30 pm. The work environment is relaxed, with no steel-toed shoes required, and employees can wear shorts or cut-offs as long as they are tasteful. Overtime is infrequent, voluntary, and typically only required on Saturdays. The interview process consists of a single step.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Perrysburg, OH.

The pay range for this position is $17.25 - $17.25/hr.
