Advanced Manufacturing Engineer- Product Development/AME Department

Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - Product Development
Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing lead representative for large truck level product development projects.
- Work with project teams early in the product development process to create manufacturing strategies and processes aligning with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly principles.
- Assist in defining cost targets and ensure alignment with the cost goals of the project.
- Maintain spending, tooling, equipment requirements to support projects.
- Coordinate design reviews and the procurement of development level components and products with the manufacturing plants globally.
- Act as project manager for the manufacturing portion of product development projects from conception through production launch.
- Present project updates to executives at Milestone meetings
- Work with Current Product teams for early engagement and to share learnings through development process.
- Work with the Process Technology group to leverage and share emerging technologies with project teams.
- Develop and mentor others while providing technical direction and leadership.
- This position reports to the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Qualifications:
- 8-15 years related experience.
- Non-degree considered if 8+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills to facilitate discussions with a wide variety of personnel at different levels of the organization.
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills
- Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills.
- Must have valid driving privileges.
- Occasional travel (0-20%)
- Occasional overnight stays (0-20%)
- International travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CAD, Simulation Software, and Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related
- Extensive knowledge of current manufacturing processes and emerging technologies
- Ability to influence others on initiatives that advances technology, processes, and product.
- Strong background in Crown manufacturing processes including automation.
- Ability to support multiple projects at once.
