The Role …
The CAD Designer focuses on producing and updating technical drawings and models using computer‑aided design (CAD) software. Under the direction of the Lead Designer and engineering staff, this role supports design, drafting, and documentation activities across multiple projects.


Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, a solid grasp of basic drafting principles, and the ability to follow established standards and procedures. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills and gain hands‑on experience within a collaborative engineering environment.

You will…

• Drafting Support: Develop 2D drawings and simple 3D models from engineering sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions.
• Revisions & Updates: Update existing CAD drawings to incorporate design changes, redlines, and engineering feedback.
• Documentation: Assist in preparing technical documents such as drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and part lists.
• Standards Compliance: Ensure all drawings meet company drafting standards, industry codes, and customer requirements.
• File Management: Organize and maintain CAD files, ensuring proper version control and documentation practices.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and fellow designers to support project deliverables and design reviews.
• Quality Checks: Conduct basic self‑reviews of drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and clarity.
• Learning & Development: Participate in training and mentorship programs to enhance CAD skills and technical knowledge.
• Administrative Support: Assist with printing, plotting, and assembling drawing packages for internal and external distribution.

What We’re Looking For …

• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or comparable CAD platforms.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings, drafting standards, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Strong commitment to accuracy and consistency in drafting and revisions.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and instruction-following.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn, contribute, and work effectively within a team.
• Receptive to feedback and motivated to improve through hands-on experience and training.

Additional Requirements …

• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background check
• Authorization to work in the United States
• On-site position at our Batavia, OH facility
