Job Description


SoftLite Windows & Doors, is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to support our high-volume manufacturing operations in Streetsboro, Ohio.

This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and operational efficiency . The ideal candidate brings advanced mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting expertise and thrives in a fast-paced production environment where precision, reliability, and proactive problem solving are critical.

This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong diagnostic capabilities, the ability to work independently as well as with a team, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

Advanced Equipment Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, drives, and automated systems.
  • Utilize schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical documentation to identify root causes of failures.
  • Respond quickly to production downtime to minimize operational disruptions.

Preventative & Predictive Maintenance

  • Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment including welders, cutting systems, conveyors, and automated assembly equipment.
  • Identify early signs of equipment wear and proactively address potential failures.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Ensure equipment repairs meet safety and operational standards.
  • Support lockout/tagout procedures and safe maintenance practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with production supervisors, engineers, and leadership to resolve equipment challenges.
  • Contribute ideas that enhance safety, reliability, and operational excellence.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Industrial electrical systems
    • PLC troubleshooting
    • Pneumatic systems
    • Mechanical systems and machine repair
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical diagrams
  • Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team within a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety


Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical certification, trade school training, or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or electrical technology
  • Experience working in automated manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with PLC platforms
  • Experience with CMMS maintenance systems
