The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a hybrid remote Sr. Credit Analyst role in the Akron, OH area. The successful candidate will spread financial information and prepare Loan Presentations for proposed or existing complex commercial credit relationships as directed by Senior Management.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $75K and an excellent benefits package. (This is a hybrid remote position).

Sr. Credit Analyst responsibilities include:

• Conducting analysis of commercial loans and/or loan relationships as determined by the Credit Manager, Credit Department Analyst, and Executive Management.
• Determining the borrower’s ability to repay all obligations by analyzing financial information and determining the adequacy of available collateral and recommending possible loan structures to ensure that the bank limits its risk to a reasonable level.
• Performing detailed analysis to demonstrate if borrowers have the credit capacity to repay all commercial and personal obligations.
• Recommending structure and terms based on the financial and collateral analysis.
• Reviewing proposed or existing collateral to determine if the bank is adequately secured.
• Preparing Annual Reviews of existing credit relationships and determining Risk Rating
• Recommending Financial Covenants where appropriate and testing annually at a minimum.
• Preparing In-House Commercial Real Estate evaluations on small transactions as needed.
• Reviewing property searches, UCC searches, and other aspects of collateral before loan closings.
• Communicating with Loan Review and Chief Credit Officer on any issues of concern on individual credits.
• Cooperating with other departments, Loan Processing. Loan Operations, Consumer Underwriting, Internal Audit, Collections, and Loan Review, as needed.
• Occasional direct communication with Customers, Outside Counsel, and Appraisers.
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly reporting for internal and third-party recipients.
• Conducting Environmental Phase I – II reviews and providing guidance on further action with Originating Lender and Credit Management.
• May work on special projects as assigned by Credit Management.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Accounting/ Finance or related degree preferred).
• Five or more years of lending or analysis experience in commercial, commercial real estate, agricultural, and SBA loans are preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with business and technical analysis.
• Able to exercise appropriate independent judgment with strong attention to detail by working efficiently and logically.
• Proven analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.
• Intermediate knowledge of Sageworks (or similar software) and Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
