Manufacturing HR Business Partner, Plant Operations
Day in the life
Reporting directly to the HRBP, you’ll serve as a strategic Plant HR partner for a high-volume manufacturing site. Your morning might start with a quick check of HR metrics and overnight safety reports, followed by coaching a supervisor through a complex employee-relations matter. Midday, you’ll review upcoming merit actions for compliance, partner with leaders on long-range staffing plans, and finalize payroll and benefits items as the plant’s process owner. In the afternoon, you could be facilitating a leadership development session, aligning department goals with corporate objectives, or advising on policy application. You are viewed across the plant as a trusted coach, catalyst for change, and resource for results.
What you’ll do
- Partner with plant leaders to improve business outcomes and achieve site objectives.
- Serve as the primary plant process owner for payroll and benefits support to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Co-create long-term workforce plans to hire the right talent for the right roles at the right time.
- Design and administer wage and salary programs that align with corporate HR strategy and external competitiveness.
- Provide subject-matter guidance on leadership development, performance management, change management, resource planning, and salary planning.
- Consult at every level—listening objectively and translating insights into practical, business-positive solutions.
- Contribute to the creation and alignment of corporate and departmental goals and objectives across supported functions.
- Educate and monitor leaders to ensure actions and decisions comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Anticipate shifts in demographics, legal frameworks, and technology; develop programs that meet evolving organizational needs.
- Champion Trivium values in everyday plant decisions; challenge and guide leaders to live those values.
- Embed Trivium’s Leadership standards into processes such as Performance Management, Succession Planning, and Selection.
- Review personnel actions (merit, promotions, transfers, discipline) to ensure adherence to internal and external controls.
- Ensure consistent, fair application of policies, procedures, and progressive discipline.
- Oversee safety training and track incidents/accidents and safety programs; manage workers’ compensation cases to support a safe workplace.
- Support sector HR leadership on special projects as needed.
- Report HR metrics to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Perform all other job duties as assigned.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience at the management level.
- Proven ability to independently identify, design, and lead strategic initiatives that advance business goals.
- Capability to direct plant-level HR efforts, uncover opportunities, and lead change.
- Hands-on knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems for accurate records, reporting, and administrative compliance; data-savvy with metrics and insights.

- Exceptional organization with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including comfort navigating difficult conversations across all levels.
- Knowledge of talent acquisition, performance management, and retention practices.
- Experience designing and delivering training on HR and policy topics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Where you’ll work
You’ll spend most of your time in an office setting using a computer, phone, and printer, with regular presence on the manufacturing floor. The plant environment is very loud; hearing protection and assigned PPE are required. Temperatures can range from below 40°F to above 90°F, and the atmosphere may include fumes, dust, and odors.
