Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Machine Operator for our client. This job is responsible for operating various shop equipment to cut, shear, punch, drill, and form steel materials, reading blueprints to produce parts to specification, and safely handling materials using cranes and other equipment to support production operations.

What’s a Typical Day Like?

• Cut, shear, punch, tap, drill steel by using various types of machines in the machine shop.
• Monitor structural steel and order through supervisor when stock gets low.
• Read blueprints.
• Perform proper procedure, (breaking, cutting, shearing punching tapping, drilling, rolling material) on steel and deliver to master builder.
• Thread pipe on an as needed basis.
• Operate crane to move steel sheets.
• Load and unload trucks as steel is delivered, by using crane and/or tow motor.
• Maintain steel scrap barrels.
• Must be able to operate press brake and laser
• Other functions as directed.

What Are the Requirements of the Job?

• High School Diploma, and/or equivalent. Minimum of two to four years practical factory experience.
• Be able to identify work process problems and possible solutions.
• Stand for prolonged periods of time on concrete floor.
• Will be required to kneel, squat, stoop, recline, climb, crawl, and/or bend on an as needed basis.
• Must be able to adjust visual focus.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. unassisted, over 70 lbs with assistance of a lifting device.
• Traditional shop atmosphere. Subject to temperature variance based on season. Loud noise level. May be exposed to various fumes or smells based on job.
• Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
• Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Communication skills
