Position Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced Grocery Buyer to take ownership of strategic sourcing for core grocery categories. This key role focuses on vendor management, category execution, and market-driven buying decisions to enhance profitability and product assortment across multiple retail locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage purchasing, replenishment, and product selection across several national grocery brand categories.

• Develop data-informed buying strategies that meet sales targets, strengthen margins, and maintain consumer-focused assortments.

• Negotiate vendor contracts including pricing, freight, payment terms, and promotional programs to maximize profitability.

• Collaborate with marketing, merchandising, and store operations teams to support new product rollouts, seasonal events, and planogram optimization.

• Monitor sales performance, inventory turnover, and supplier performance metrics to inform category strategies.

• Analyze consumer insights, competitor activity, and industry trends to identify new opportunities and discontinue underperforming SKUs.

• Ensure compliance with company standards, supply chain protocols, and vendor policies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline (preferred).

• 5+ years of experience in grocery procurement, category management, or wholesale buying for national brand products.

• Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and vendor relationship skills with measurable success in cost management.

• Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerBI, and other category or inventory management tools.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management abilities.

• Comfortable in a high-volume, deadline-driven retail environment.

• Willingness to travel to vendor meetings and industry trade shows as needed.
