Associate Attorney

We are seeking a versatile and proactive Associate Attorney to join our firm. While this role is primarily focused on Family Law , we welcome candidates who can help us diversify our practice. Whether you have a background in probate, civil litigation, criminal defense, or another area of law, we'll provide a platform to expand those secondary interests into complementary practice areas.

The ideal candidate is a compassionate advocate who can navigate the emotional complexities of domestic relations while maintaining a sharp focus on litigation strategy and financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Domestic Relations Litigation: Handling all aspects of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, support modifications, and domestic violence injunctions.
• General Practice Support: Assist with matters in other practice areas, as assigned.
• Client Advocacy: Represent clients in mediation, temporary hearings, and final trials.
• Drafting & Filings: Prepare quality pleadings, financial affidavits, parenting plans, and settlement agreements.
• Discovery Management: Oversee the exchange of mandatory disclosures and conduct through financial analysis of marital assets.

Compensation Structure

Compensation is calcluated as a percentage of fees earned and collected. This model allows for significant earning potential based directly on your billable efficiency and successful collections.

Qualifications

• Education & Licensure: Candidate must have a J.D. from accredited law school and active license to practice law in the state of Ohio.
• Experience: Candidate preferably will have 1-5 years of experience, though we are willing to train a candidate with strong foundational skills.
• Emotional Intelligence: Candidate must have the ability to remain professional and objective while assisting clients through high-stress life transitions.
• Financial Literacy: At its core, divorce is the dissolution of a financial partnership. Candidate must be comfortable working with complex financial documents, have a basic understanding of potential tax implications, and familiar with asset valuations.
• Litigation and Trial Advocacy: While most cases settle, our attorneys must remain a credible threat in the courtroom. Candidate must engage in continuous education regarding the rules of evidence, the local courts' rules, and current changes in relevant law.
