Assignment Dates: Start: ASAP | End: 1 Year from Start
Role Type: Temp-to-Perm (Opportunity to extend or go permanent based on business needs)
Pay Rate: $30.00/hr

POSITION DETAILS

• Rotating schedule; weekends required
• Must be available for ANY shift
• 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute lunch
• Shifts are assigned at time of offer and may change depending on facility needs
• Onsite role at the Gallipolis Developmental Center

ABOUT THE FACILITY

The Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) is a trauma-informed care agency that supports individuals with developmental disabilities across Ohio.
The Gallipolis Developmental Center provides on- and off-campus habilitation, recreation, work-readiness, therapeutic programming, and full health services.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Administer nursing care within LPN scope of practice (per Ohio Revised Code 4723.01–4723.40)
• Perform skilled practical nursing procedures and treatments, including:
• • Obtaining vital signs
  • Applying oxygen
  • Performing sterile dressing changes
  • Inserting catheters and reinserting gastrostomy tubes
  • Suctioning
  • Wound care
  • Administering enemas, enteral feedings, and medications (all approved routes)
• Observe, document, and report patient conditions; escalate appropriately
• Provide thorough patient teaching and clear shift reports
• Assist RNs and physicians with procedures
• Respond to emergencies, perform CPR, and use/assist with AED operation
• Monitor patients during and after procedures
• Maintain medical accountability and complete all documentation, including:
• • MARs
  • Charts and patient records
  • Incident forms
  • Seizure documentation
  • Restraint logs
  • Infection control records
  • Controlled drug logs (report discrepancies immediately)
• Maintain, stock, and clean all assigned medical areas, equipment, and supplies
• Communicate with pharmacy to maintain medication levels
• Perform clerical tasks (phones, filing, copying, faxing)
• Provide general nursing care and direction to direct care staff (feeding, bathing, transfers, repositioning, etc.)
• Attend medical appointments, team meetings, and trainings as needed
• Respond to alarms and maintain required supervision levels
• Work closely with the Nursing Supervisor/Director of Nursing regarding patient care needs

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Valid Ohio LPN License
• CPR Certification
• Ability to work ANY shift, including weekends and rotating schedules
• Ability to read, write, document, and communicate clearly
• Ability to perform physical nursing duties, CPR, and emergency response
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow medical procedures and documentation requirements
