Lead Software Engineer (Python/Django)

Location: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement complex, scalable software features and systems

• Provide technical leadership and guidance across the engineering team

• Participate in architectural discussions and influence technical direction

• Translate product and UI requirements into secure, performant APIs

• Optimize backend systems for high availability, scalability, and performance

• Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices

• Mentor junior engineers and support team growth

• Build and evolve distributed systems and microservices architectures

• Integrate AI tools, frameworks, and modern development practices into the SDLC

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

• 7+ years of professional software development experience

• Strong to expert proficiency in Python (3.11+) , including:

  • Modern Python idioms and best practices

  • Type hinting and dataclasses

  • Threading constraints and multi-process architectures

• Strong experience with Django , including architecture, ORM, and templating

  • Experience with Django Ninja and Pydantic strongly preferred

  • Experience with Flask or similar frameworks considered

• API design expertise, translating requirements into secure, scalable APIs

  • OpenAPI specification design strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with OpenAPI generation via Pydantic a plus

• PostgreSQL expertise , including:

  • JSON fields

  • Full-text search

  • Complex constraints and query optimization for high-scale systems

• Experience with cloud platforms, distributed systems, and microservices

• Strong understanding of database systems and backend performance

• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and influence engineering teams

• Experience integrating AI tools and concepts into the software development process

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
