Senior Cloud Application Engineer
Onsite in Cincinnati, OH
Our client is a large U.S. financial institution headquartered in Cincinnati with extensive branch and ATM networks across multiple states. The organization ranks on the Fortune 500 and is among the largest banks in the United States, reflecting a long history formed by predecessor bank mergers.

Rate: $90.00 to $100.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Maintain platform uptime, performance, stability, and scalability.
- Design and guide system architecture, and mentor peers on design decisions.
- Develop and maintain public APIs.
- Deliver robust and extensible solutions from feature requests.
- Work with big data technologies such as Kafka, Hadoop, and Spark.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists to develop value-added features.
- Partner with DBAs to create ETL and data warehouse systems.
- Automate solutions with Operations to increase service reliability.
- Monitor production systems and address platform-related issues.
- Build tools and processes supporting analytics, monitoring, machine learning, and data warehousing.
- Define and implement strategies for networking, backups, and distributed configurations.
- Provision, configure, maintain, back up, and monitor on-premises and cloud server resources.
- Define and implement deployment strategies for client-facing and internal tools.
- Improve and tune alerting and monitoring systems.
- Refactor Apex code for increased data volume and performance.
- Update integration logic for new products and data structures.
- Create unit tests and deployment-ready code aligned with Salesforce best practices.
- Document code changes and performance improvements.
- Install and maintain cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
- Analyze business requirements and propose solutions that meet security standards.
- Architect, deploy, and administer services across cloud providers.
- Troubleshoot converged infrastructure across compute, storage, and network.
- Engineer and perform capacity management for infrastructure solutions.
- Monitor system uptime and performance and resolve errors.
- Stay informed on emerging cloud technologies and assess operational value.
Experience Requirements
- AWS proficiency.
- Jenkins CI/CD experience.
- Spring Boot Java experience.
- Advanced Apex programming and Salesforce development experience.
- Knowledge of Salesforce APIs, triggers, and batch processing.
- Experience optimizing code for high-volume data loads.
- Familiarity with integration patterns and external connectivity.
- Strong debugging and performance tuning skills.
- Experience in software and systems development.
- Background in Linux administration.
- Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, DigitalOcean, or Google Cloud.
- Understanding of IT security best practices.
- Experience with automation and configuration tools such as Puppet or Ansible.
- Experience with container orchestration such as Docker Swarm or Kubernetes.
- Understanding of computer networks.
- Expertise with server operating systems including Windows and Linux.
- Experience with desktop virtualization.
- Experience with Active Directory and identity management.
- Expertise in continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
- Ability to use open source technologies and cloud services.
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as PHP, Python, Perl, PowerShell, or Ruby.
- Experience with automated build and deploy processes and tools.
- Experience monitoring and designing for cloud environments.
- Expert-level knowledge of Git.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- 10+ years of Java application development, microservices, and EDA with Kafka (preferred).
- Kubernetes and OpenShift Red Hat experience (preferred).
- Strong skills in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot beyond the core requirements (preferred).

The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
