ICU RN Job Details

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Setting: Critical Care ICU Float / Rapid Response Team
• Employment Type: Travel RN (locum tenens)
• Assignment Length: 13-19 weeks (16 weeks standard)
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 26, 2026
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940 - $1990 per week
• Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, Adolescents

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years RN experience in acute care settings
• At least 3 years of ICU RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Emergency department or rapid response team experience highly valued
• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license)
• Graduate of ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, CCRN or OCN
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Trauma Level I and II experience required
• Ability to provide two professional references (one from leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Float between MICU, SICU, NCCU, PCU, and Med/Surg units as needed
• Deliver direct patient care to critically ill and oncology patients
• Participate in Rapid Response Team: proactive rounding, emergency response (code blue, ERT, Med assist), stroke code activation, IO placement, and patient transport
• Utilize deterioration index tools for patient assessment and intervention
• Perform advanced procedures: arterial line management, chest tube insertion/removal, central line care, blood product administration, ventilator management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, physical therapy, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, social services)
• Document patient care using EPIC electronic medical record system
