The Student Support & Information Coordinator designs, implements, and coordinates data information systems; advises students; coordinates departmental assessment, orientation, and staff development activities

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Student Assessment
Assists director and works independently in developing, implementing, and refining plans for student assessment, placement, orientation, registration and recordkeeping relative to federal and state requirement for student educational performance accountability
Organizes and coordinates student assessment (pre and post); ensures students receive timely and appropriate testing, administers assessments, and provides students with result analysis
Monitors progress with regards to student readiness for GED testing; identifies appropriate assessments and advises students on procedures for testing; works with institution security and work programs to schedule students for testing
Off-Campus Site Coordination
Works independently at non-campus site; exercises independent judgment to establish and implement both prescribed processes and non-prescribed processes and procedures to fulfill educational needs; monitors the effectiveness of classes and adjusts as necessary; keeps director appraised of changes and needs of program
Hires, supervises, trains, and recruits inmate clerks and tutors
Computers & Learning Systems
Monitors and coordinates use of computerized integrated learning system, and student computers
Uses state DOC computer system to set up class schedules; coordinates and resolves student conflicts with institutional schedules. Monitors and records attendance, uses results to maintain compliance with institution programs
Student Advising
Advises students individually and in small groups as to the services available according to their learning styles and abilities; advises students and staff on the use of a variety of different tools available to address students’ diverse learning and educational needs
Advises mono-lingual Spanish speakers, limited English proficient and basic skills students and provides information and assistance with transition to society and college
Department Responsibilities
Advises and serves as resource person to DOC staff regarding education programs and record keeping
Maintains and strengthens collaborative partnerships with college, DOC, and other agencies; facilitates networking of related resources to most effectively serve the College, students, staff and the DOC
Assists in the marketing of program services within the DOC institution; identifies prospective students using ever-changing criteria and individual institution guidelines; communicates with identified students and advises them of their DOC educational needs and requirements
Coordinates space and facilities usage as appropriate to educational and other programs, DOC programming, and security needs
Prepares and/or monitors the preparation of routine reports; provides data to director as requested; initiates classes to improve program performance
Understands and abides by college and Oregon Department of Corrections policies and regulations
Other Functions
May administer the BASIC/CASAS and holistic Basic Writing tests and shares results with students and staff
May supervise students in instructor’s absence

Minimum Qualifications:
This level requires an equivalency of six (6) years of full-time work experience that reflects the knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions listed above.
This is typically achieved through a Bachelor’s Degree in and two (2) years of full-time work experience which reflects the knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions listed above.
Education equivalency will not apply to one (1) year of the full-time work experience.

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Education or a related field

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
SCHEDULE & MODALITY
This position is not eligible for remote/hybrid work.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- This is a 100%, 12-month classified assignment at the pay grade 16.
- This position has a 6-month probationary period
- All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college.
- Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends
- This position may require the use of your personal vehicle for transportation between campus locations
- If requested, requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire
- Employees must maintain Oregon, Washington or Idaho residency as a condition of employment.
- Successful applicants for designated positions must successfully pass a background inquiry, which may include criminal, driving, credit and full background checks. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary requirements are met.

Chemeketa Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan.
