Security Specialist- Full Time- All Shifts
Summary
The Security Specialist maintains security of the facility and grounds, assists in maintaining safety policy and procedures, investigates suspicious activities, control access to the facility and property, conducts routine patrols, investigates and reports activities and assist in emergency responses.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide security for facilities including weekend and holidays.
- Ability to work at multiple locations to provide required security coverage.
- Monitor and patrol assigned areas to deter, detect, and investigate any security breaches, hazards, and suspicious activity.
- Enforce site policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Control access to facilities, verify identification, and maintain visitor/contractor logs.
- Monitor facility control points and log vehicle traffic.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incident reports.
- Conduct thorough incident investigations and complete accurate, timely written reports.
- Perform routine inspections of doors, gates, equipment, and security systems.
- Monitor CCTV, alarms, and other electronic security systems.
- Provide customer service support to employees, visitors, and vendors while maintaining professionalism.
- Assist with emergency response procedures, including fire, medical, weather, or evacuation events.
- Monitor severe weather and activate appropriate protocol when necessary.
- Maintain communication via radio, phone, or computer systems.
- Respond to request for service.
- Maintain Emergency Response Plans and Procedures.
- Monitor and report maintenance issues after hours.
- Document incidents, near-misses, and security breaches in detailed written reports.
- Enforce facility rules, PPE requirements, and safety policies in coordination with EHS teams.
- Maintain EHS Policy and Procedures.
- Identify physical and environmental risk within the facility and on the property.
- Maintain emergency equipment.
- Ensure cleanliness of lobby and welcoming areas to visitors.
- Perform other administrative task as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Previous security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively during stressful or emergency situations.
- Basic computer skills for report writing and system monitoring.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
- Must be detail oriented and proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, follow-up and follow-through.
- Must pass background check and drug screen.
