Position Summary
Harris Battery Company is seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee accounting operations and support broader business functions. This role is ideal for someone who can step in quickly, take ownership of day-to-day accounting responsibilities, and serve as a trusted partner to ownership.

The Controller will be part of the management and leadership team and will have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and long-term growth initiatives. This is a fully on-site role in Bolivar, Ohio.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including billing, accounts payable, and journal entries


• Prepare and analyze financial information to support management decisions


• Maintain general ledger accuracy and support timely close processes


• Assist with resource management and operational planning efforts


• Provide basic IT coordination and system oversight as needed


• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and efficiencies


• Collaborate closely with ownership on financial and operational initiatives

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounting or Controller-level roles


• Strong hands-on accounting skills in a small or mid-sized business environment


• Ability to work independently and manage a wide range of responsibilities


• Experience with billing, accounts payable, journal entries, and financial analysis


• Exposure to operations, resource management, or IT support is a plus


• Leadership mindset with interest in contributing beyond traditional accounting duties
