Controls Engineer

Job Description

Seeking a proactive engineer to modernize machine control systems, integrate SCADA platforms, and ensure reliable automation in a production environment.

Responsibilities Include

• Design and implement electrical control solutions, including PLC and HMI programming.

• Integrate and configure SCADA systems for real-time monitoring, diagnostics, and data logging.

• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, electricians, and production teams during system upgrades and commissioning.

• Evaluate and upgrade legacy machine control systems to current technologies.

• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and control system issues on production equipment.

• Maintain and update documentation, including electrical schematics and software backups.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley preferred)

• Hands on experience working with SCADA software (e.g., Ignition, Wonderware).

• Strong understanding of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus), sensors, drives, and electrical panels.

• 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, machine controls, or SCADA integration.

• Ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across engineering disciplines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maumee, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
