Java/Kafka/Flink/AWS Lead Software Engineer

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Banking, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities:
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firm-wide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Adds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
- Drives end to end technical delivery by leading project planning, architectural decisions, cross functional coordination, and execution to ensure high quality, on-time outcomes
- Maintain and Deploy ECS and EKS applications to AWS
- Coding, designing & developing scalable & resilient streaming first applications using Java, Spring, Kafka Streams, Flink, Data Lake & Low Latency stores
Performing maintenance and production support
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- 8 plus year of experience in designing & developing scalable & resilient streaming first applications using Java, Spring, Kafka Streams, Apache Flink, & Low Latency stores (Cassandra)
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Hands on AWS cloud management experience (ECS)
- Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
- Experience driving end to end technical delivery ensure high quality in execution
- Strong hands on lead experience with varying levels of Software Engineers
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Experience working with Petabyte scale environments and streaming billions of events per day
- AWS Certified
- Experience with Data Lake
- Experience in a very large I.T. financial services environment
- Experience in leading a team of varying levels of Software Engineers
