Histology Technician

Duties

• Prepare tissue specimens through grossing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting for microscopic analysis
• Collect and process biological samples following strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination
• Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory procedures, specimen tracking, and test results
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and uphold high standards of patient care during specimen handling
• Support diagnostic activities by preparing samples according to protocols and assisting with data collection
• Collaborate with pathologists, researchers, and clinical staff to ensure timely delivery of quality specimens for diagnosis or study

Experience

• Prior clinical laboratory experience or laboratory experience involving histological techniques is required
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures including tissue processing, staining methods, and microscopy techniques
• Experience with specimen collection methods
• Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, pathology concepts, and physiology relevant to histology work
• Hands-on experience in hospital or clinical settings with patient interaction and specimen management
• Understanding of laboratory safety standards including aseptic technique and infection control practices
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow detailed protocols accurately while maintaining efficiency

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
