Job Overview:

The Carrier Representative is responsible for ensuring assigned freight is executed, building lasting carrier relationships, and overseeing daily shipment activities while ensuring a high level of customer service to continuously exceed our customers’ expectations. The Carrier Representative reports to the Operations Manager.

Duties and responsibilities:

· Identify carriers for available freight and negotiate competitive rates.

· Build and maintain strong carrier relationships.

· Answer inbound and make outbound calls to ensure outstanding customer service.

· Drive operational excellence to both customer and carriers.

· Manage daily load activities, resolving issues to ensure on time pick-up and delivery

· Proactively resolve problems that may arise while a load is in transit.

· Creative thinker who enjoys a competitive, team-based atmosphere.

· Grow business with current carriers in alignment with account growth strategy plans.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Bachelors’ degree preferred.

· Previous sales experience preferred.

· Truck brokerage knowledge preferred.

· Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency; able to work in a fast-paced work environment with quickly changing priorities.

· Works proactively and independently, with the ability to take initiative.

· Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.

· Willingness to learn new information and apply knowledge to job responsibilities.

Physical Demands:

· Extended Sitting: Primarily desk-based with prolonged computer use.

· Light Lifting: Occasional handling of objects up to 20 pounds.

· Computer Use: Frequent operation of computers and office equipment, requiring manual dexterity.

· Eye Strain and Repetitive Motion: Risk from continuous screen use and repetitive tasks like typing.

· Office Navigation: Light walking and standing for meetings and tasks within the office.
